Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the governed transformation layer end-to-end from Snowflake to dbt models, with CI/CD and full lineage across multi-ERP environments. You will design, build, and standardize semantic models and the data quality framework in a hands-on role.

The position emphasizes Snowflake, dbt, and Python expertise, delivering robust, versioned data models for reporting and AI/ML readiness. Remote work is supported with competitive benefits and W2 status.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years in data/analytics engineering, with 4+ years on a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred).
• Expert SQL with window functions, performance tuning, and incremental loads.
• 3+ years of production dbt experience, including macros, tests, snapshots, and documentation.
• Hands-on Kimball dimensional modeling with star schemas, conformed dims, surrogate keys, SCD 1/2.
• Production experience with ingestion tools (Fivetran, Airbyte, Informatica, Matillion) and orchestrators (dbt Cloud, Airflow, Dagster, ADF).
• Git and CI/CD for data using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI with code review.
• Proficient Python for data tooling and APIs.
• Experience modeling data from ERP systems (Oracle, SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, MS Dynamics).
• Strong written communication; self-starter in fast-paced multi-ERP environments.

Aufgaben

• Design and build the Snowflake transformation layer from raw to staging to conformed to marts.
• Migrate existing SQL views to versioned, tested dbt models with full lineage.
• Define conformed dimensions and operational facts across multi-ERP environments.
• Set standards for modeling, testing, naming, documentation, CI/CD, Git workflows, and release management.
• Partner with report owners to validate semantic equivalence and minimize BI cutover disruption.
• Define and own semantic layer across Snowflake, dbt, and Power BI for consistent metrics.
• Implement data quality testing, observability, and lineage with dbt tests and related tools.
• Design models for AI/ML and agent readiness with stable keys and semantics.
• Collaborate with AI/analytics teams on feature-table patterns and golden-record exposure.
