Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to turn raw data into trusted, well-modeled datasets powering enterprise reporting. You’ll own the modeling layer between source data and analytics teams, collaborating with App Engineering and downstream teams to ensure the right data is captured and modeled.

In this role, you’ll design production data pipelines, enforce validation and QA, and mentor peers while applying data security best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering/analytics engineering or dimensional modeling, producing production data models.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to transform data from multiple sources into scalable warehouses/lactehouse.
• Proficiency in Python for data transformation and pipeline development.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling, ELT workflows, and modern data architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, production-grade data pipelines and data models for downstream analytics and enterprise reporting.
• Implement data validation, testing, and QA standards to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Partner with App Engineering to capture and model raw data downstream.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineering, BI, and stakeholders to translate needs into datasets.
• Ensure data models comply with data security and privacy regulations through access controls and monitoring.
• Mentor other data engineers in modeling best practices and patterns.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency and observability.
