Job summary

Janea Systems in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Data Engineering to join our remote consulting team. You will design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure powering analytics, reporting, and product features, owning end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines with emphasis on data quality and reliability.

You will work with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), modern data warehousing tools, and orchestration frameworks, collaborating with analytics, product, and engineering

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong SQL proficiency.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines in production.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with modern data warehousing tools.
• Understanding of data modeling and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop and optimize data models and schemas for analytics and downstream apps.
• Monitor pipeline health and troubleshoot data quality issues.
• Implement alerting and observability practices.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to translate data needs into durable solutions.
• Improve performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of data infrastructure.
• Write clear technical documentation.
• Contribute to testing, code reviews, and deployment standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production data systems.
