Job summary

jane is seeking a senior data engineer to shape foundational data infrastructure for a high-growth SaaS environment. You will own end-to-end data projects, partner with analytics, product and platform teams, and scale data availability and governance.

The role emphasizes secure, centralized data lake design, streaming systems, and enabling broader teams through insights. You’ll deploy robust infrastructure, maintain the data lake, and work across teams to convert requirements into reliable data

Qualifications

5+ years building production data infrastructure in SaaS or data-heavy environments.
Strong SQL and data warehousing fundamentals, including ETL/ELT and schema design.
Hands-on with AWS services and IaC tools (Terraform, Glue, MSK).
Experience with Iceberg, Snowflake, and modern data lake/warehouse tech.
Experience with CDC pipelines using Kafka or Debezium, plus Flink/Spark.
Owns infrastructure end-to-end and communicates with both engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Deploy scalable, production-grade data infrastructure balancing speed and reliability.
Contribute to centralized data lake architecture, security controls, and governance.
Design and build high-performance streaming applications.
Own full lifecycle of infrastructure projects with docs and runbooks.
Collaborate with analytics and product teams to translate needs into tech requirements.
Leverage AI to automate routine infrastructure tasks.
