Gainwell Technologies is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines powering analytics and decision-making. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering with Databricks, Spark, Python, and AWS, plus data governance and end-to-end delivery.

You will collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to provide governed data access, optimize workflows, and maintain data models across the organization. This is a remote US opportunity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake) and Python-based ETL frameworks.
• Experience with AWS cloud services for data processing and storage.
• Proficient in SQL for data wrangling, transformation, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with data lake architectures and orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, version control, and code reviews.
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) for reporting enablement.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable data pipelines: design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using Databricks, Spark, and Python.
• Enable data access and analytics: ensure governed data for downstream reporting.
• Optimize data workflows: tune SQL, optimize Spark jobs, and enhance cloud pipelines.
• Leverage cloud infrastructure: use AWS S3, Glue, Lambda to manage data workloads.
• Drive best practices: maintain data engineering standards, security, and documentation.
• Build data models: create dimensional and normalized models for cross-functional use cases.
• Automation & monitoring: implement orchestration (Airflow, Databricks Jobs, Step Functions) and alerts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: work with analysts, scientists, and business users to transform data.
