Tempus is seeking a data engineering professional to build and operate production-grade data pipelines across structured and unstructured data. You will own data warehouse transformations, dbt models on BigQuery, and real-time ingestion for AI agents within a HIPAA-regulated healthcare platform.

Qualifications

• Total Professional Experience: 5+ years building data-intensive software systems in production.
• Data Engineering: 3+ years focused on data engineering, pipeline ownership, or data modeling, healthcare domain.
• Cloud Infrastructure: 2+ years on Google Cloud, with ownership of infra decisions.
• Healthcare Domain: 2+ years in HIPAA-regulated environments with EMR data exposure.
• AI/ML Orchestration: 1+ years hands-on with LLMs — agentic workflows or RAG.
• Data at Scale: Experience with structured and unstructured data at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines feeding autonomous agents and real-time inference.
• Develop systems to fetch, parse, and serve structured & unstructured data.
• Own warehouse and transformations; maintain dbt models on BigQuery with tests/docs.
• Model multi-modal patient records and design cross-domain data models.
• Implement event-driven data flows with Pub/Sub and dead-letter handling.
• Build data access patterns and metadata layers for agent querying.
• Develop TypeScript services and APIs coordinating specialized agents.
• Maintain cloud infrastructure with Terraform and versioned deployments.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and ground-truth for reliable AI evaluations.
