Job summary

NBCUniversal in New York City is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and maintain scalable data pipelines for internal and partner data sources. You will work within the Content Delivery Engineering team to deliver robust data processing, modeling, and insights.

You will collaborate with architects, software engineers, and data scientists to enable real-time and batch analytics, ensuring reliability, observability, and cost efficiency in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in working with big data: ETL, pipeline building, analysis and code, with expertise in at least one programming language.
• Experience implementing scalable, distributed, highly available data systems using Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, AWS, etc.
• Skilled with CI/CD pipelines, test automation and data visualization techniques.
• Strong SQL data processing skills and familiarity with SRE practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop & maintain data systems and pipelines with focus on reliability and testability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPI and acceptance criteria.
• Work with various data sources to support analytical projects.
• Build real-time and batch data solutions and integrate into streaming architecture.
• Participate in design reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
