Job summary

Syngenta Group in the United States, North Carolina, seeks a Senior Data Engineer to join a collaborative DataOps team. You will design and maintain analytical data infrastructure, build real-time data pipelines, and work with data scientists and IT to enable advanced analytics.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, strong AWS (Glue/EMR/Lambda), Snowflake, SQL/NoSQL, and the ability to mentor engineers and influence senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of industry experience in software engineering, data engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience with data integration concepts (ETL/ELT).
• Experience building/distributing data pipelines and working with big data.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL technologies.
• Ability to lead, mentor and coach other engineers.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support analytical data infrastructure delivering access to large datasets of diverse types.
• Lead, coach and develop junior engineers and IT professionals.
• Interface with stakeholders to align roadmaps and technical strategy.
• Build and operate real-time data pipelines using AWS tools (Glue, S3, Lambda, EMR).
• Deploy high-value datasets in Snowflake and ensure data quality and monitoring.
• Collaborate with data scientists to implement analytics and ML into pipelines.
• Pursue automation and simplify data as a service.
