Job summary

Syngenta is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer / Technical Lead in Durham, NC to design and deliver secure, scalable cloud platforms across AWS and hybrid environments. You will lead automation, enable data workloads with Snowflake, and improve observability and reliability using Datadog.

Ideal candidates have 4–6+ years of relevant experience, strong Python, and proven ability to drive technical workstreams with senior stakeholders while supporting laboratory modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
5+ years in cloud engineering / DevOps / platform engineering.
Advanced hands-on AWS and Terraform Cloud.
Advanced Python coding.
Experience with Snowflake, Datadog, hybrid infrastructure.
Strong cloud networking, IAM, security, and databases.
Experience leading technical workstreams and communicating with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, engineer, and support secure, resilient, scalable AWS and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
Lead infrastructure automation through Terraform Cloud and CI/CD integration.
Enable Snowflake workloads with networking, data movement, monitoring, and governance.
Establish observability and reliability using Datadog and AWS monitoring.
Deliver HPC, AI/ML, and research computing solutions (SageMaker, AWS ParallelCluster).
Lead laboratory modernization through cloud, network, and storage designs.
Provide technical leadership through reviews, mentoring, and incident resolution.
Partner with cross-functional teams to communicate recommendations and drive standards adoption.
