Job summary

Meta is hiring a Data Engineer focused on product analytics and large-scale data systems in the United States. You will shape data architectures across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and more, partnering with software engineers, data scientists, and PMs to build scalable data solutions for billions of users and hundreds of millions of businesses.

You will architect data models, optimize ETL pipelines, and implement governance and security while mentoring peers and delivering impactful

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience with data-centric roles such as data engineer, data analyst, or data scientist
• 7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala)

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own data architecture for large-scale projects, evaluating design and cost-benefit tradeoffs
• Create frameworks to improve data logging and triage data infrastructure issues
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and visualize insights
• Define and manage SLAs for datasets in ownership
• Determine security model based on privacy requirements and ensure governance
• Design, build, and deploy data models and visualizations for multiple use cases
• Solve data integration problems using ETL patterns and varied data sources
• Optimize production data pipelines and analytics code
• Improve pipelines, dashboards, and systems to ease data artifact development
• Influence cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities and impact
• Mentor team members with actionable feedback
