Job summary

SoFi in Seattle is seeking a Sr Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and datasets that empower recruiting, compensation, talent management, and learning initiatives.

You will implement production dbt models in Snowflake, orchestrate Airflow DAGs, enforce data quality and governance, and mentor teammates while collaborating with people analytics and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering and analytics experience.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow, Gitlab.
• Proficiency with Snowflake/Redshift/GCP.
• Strong data modeling and CI/CD knowledge.
• Experience with sensitive or regulated data and access controls.
• Experience with AI agents or HR data is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production dbt models integrating multiple sources.
• Build and operate Airflow DAGs for data ingestion and schedule management.
• Own data quality, freshness checks, and monitoring for reliability.
• Implement and maintain row-level security and access controls for People data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into production deliverables.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and standards.
