Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, including admin/support.
• Fintech or data-intensive environments preferred.
• Expert-level SQL: joins, window functions, performance trade-offs.
• Experience building data models and marts from raw data.
• Solid Python skills for data engineering tasks.
• Hands-on with Snowflake, Airflow, Fivetran, and DBT.
• High bar for data quality; validation before use.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous problems.

Responsibilities

• Build and own end-to-end data pipelines (ingestion - staging - marts) using Snowflake, Airflow, Fivetran, and DBT.
• Work directly with raw data; identify issues and fix in base/staging layers.
• Design simple, scalable data models trusted by the business.
• Write advanced, high-performance SQL.
• Understand execution plans, indexing, clustering, and storage behavior.
• Debug data issues across systems and trace problems.
• Use Python for ETL automation and scripting.
• Build and enforce data quality checks to prevent bad data.
• Monitor pipelines proactively and resolve issues.
