Job summary

Casey’s is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design and implement data ingestion, transformation frameworks, and analytics data models. You will collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Technology teams to solve complex data problems using cloud technologies such as Databricks and Anomalo.

The role emphasizes building scalable pipelines, CI/CD, and data governance, with on-site work required at Casey’s Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of related work experience.
• At least five years designing and developing enterprise data solutions and integrations.
• Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark and SQL.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or other modern data platform.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, including ADLS Gen2, Data Factory, Key Vault, and Function Apps.

Responsibilities

• Leads complex data engineering initiatives, gathering requirements and refining solutions.
• Mentors engineers on data modeling, pipeline development, and best practices.
• Experience using AI to accelerate data engineering practices and enforce standards.
• Tests data pipelines and models to ensure accuracy and resilience.
• Evaluates source data systems to model data for analytics and operations.
• Ingests data from API, streaming, event, and batch sources.
• Evaluates tech landscape and recommends improvements to the data platform.
• Provides on-call support for the data platform.
• Builds and maintains CI/CD pipelines in GitHub.
• Acts as escalation point for data engineering and platform issues.
