Job summary

Sagent is seeking an experienced Senior Data Services Engineer to design and optimize data solutions for our Mortgage Servicing platform. You will build scalable data pipelines, develop ETL/ELT processes, and work across cloud platforms to ensure high-performance data delivery.

The role requires Python expertise, cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), and a solid background in data engineering and databases, with a focus on data-driven decisions and regulatory considerations in financial services.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree with 4+ years in data/engineering or related field, or advanced degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, and analysis.
• Experience designing and developing Python-based backend services (FastAPI/Flask/Django).
• Experience with APIs, database integrations, and dependency management.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and core data services.
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases, schema design, and query optimization.
• Proven ETL/ELT pipeline development and data workflows.
• Mortgage Servicing/Financial Services understanding is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and services using Python and modern data engineering frameworks.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to load data into cloud platforms.
• Write production-quality code for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Architect data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) using managed services.
• Maintain relational and NoSQL databases for high-volume workloads.
• Monitor and optimize database and pipeline performance for reliability and scalability.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers; collaborate with Product, Business Analysts, and Software teams.
