Job summary

Michels Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and operate lakehouse pipelines, turning raw source data into durable enterprise assets. You will mentor engineers, drive automation, and help scale a lean team with observability and robust data products.

You will own end-to-end design through production support, collaborating with Data Platform & Engineering and IT leadership to set engineering standards and ensure governance and security across enterprise data assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical field.
• 5+ years of production data engineering experience or related discipline.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark and modern CI/CD practices.
• Experience building observable, governed data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build batch, streaming, and event-driven data pipelines connecting source systems to lakehouse.
• Develop transformation logic and orchestrated workflows for datasets.
• Design data assets to support analytics, reporting, and AI-ready consumption.
• Instrument pipelines with validation, monitoring, and alerting for reliability.
• Tune pipelines for performance, scale, and cost efficiency.
• Establish engineering standards and reference architectures to scale teams.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers through code reviews.
