Job summary

PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the enterprise data warehouse and core pipelines on the Databricks platform. You will design, build, and operate EDW pipelines from Bronze to Gold, enforce data quality, and mentor junior engineers in PySpark and SQL.

This hybrid Pittsburgh role reports to the Manager, Data Engineering and offers a strong benefit package. You will collaborate with QA, Governance, Informatics, and business teams, driving reliable, low-latency data

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive data engineering experience, including production ownership of an enterprise data warehouse or large-scale transformation pipelines with defined SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and operates enterprise data warehouse pipelines and data models across the Databricks medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Assumes ownership of assigned EDW domains as production systems: data model integrity, pipeline reliability, ingestion SLAs, incident response.
• Leads structured documentation of knowledge for assigned domains, architecture and feed SQL.
• Develops and maintains production Delta Lake pipelines, evolving ingestion from batch to event-driven architectures.
• Implements row-level reconciliation and quality gates at ingestion, transformation, and delivery layers.
• Builds Gold-layer tables and promotion logic that support Unity Catalog metric views, lineage capture, and access controls.
• Optimizes pipeline performance, latency and compute cost across all layers of the platform.
• Documents architecture decisions, data models, pipeline logic, and runbooks.
