Job summary

Steelcase is hiring a Senior Data Engineer in Grand Rapids, MI, with a hybrid schedule. You will transform enterprise data into reliable, scalable solutions by building modern data pipelines and partnering with analytics, data science, and engineering teams.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design big data solutions using Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Apache Spark, Python, and SQL. Ensure robust data pipelines across Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift and more, while advancing

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of full-time experience in data engineering, data science, AI engineering, software engineering or similar.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Azure, and Python.
• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including data pipelines and scalable data processing solutions.
• Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners, managers and engineers to scope and define Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define, design, and build big data solutions using Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Spark, Python, SQL, and related tools.
• Architect and develop scalable data pipelines using data from diverse sources and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, GCP Big Query).
• Apply data architecture patterns to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of data solutions.
• Document information flows, establish data lineage, and define data contracts for observability and traceability.
