Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Phoenix, AZ to design and implement BI solutions that drive business value. You will collaborate on architectures, develop end-to-end data pipelines, and ensure robust reporting across multiple sources.

The role requires strong SQL, Python, ETL/ELT skills and experience with MicroStrategy and Tableau, plus hands-on work with Snowflake, Denodo, and Alteryx. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in BI are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
• Five (5) years of related progressive experience after completing the Bachelor’s Degree.
• Five (5) years of experience with end-to-end BI solutions using MicroStrategy and Tableau and with data warehousing.
• Three (3) years of experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes using ETL/ELT and Python-based frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with information architecture, lead engineers and business area teams to build detailed technical design documents.
• Apply understanding of business intelligence, data warehousing, data modeling, architectures, and terminology.
• Develop relationships with internal and external partners.
• Design, build, test, and deploy full lifecycle reporting and analytic solutions.
• Design and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from multiple sources.
• Contribute to development best practices and roadmap strategies.
• Work within Agile methodologies to deliver features and stories on time.
• Partner with business teams and external vendors to implement solutions.
