Job summary

DEPT® is seeking a well-rounded Data Engineer to translate business goals into scalable data solutions. You’ll work across teams, contribute to pipeline design, and drive pragmatic engineering choices that impact client outcomes.

The role emphasizes collaboration, rapid iteration, and practical problem-solving in a fast-paced Growth Invention environment. You’ll engage with DevOps practices, agile workflows, and modern data tools on projects for top brands.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in core programming fundamentals, modern tools (IDEs, CLI, Git/version control), and basic debugging
• 2+ years of experience in Data Management Tools: Airflow or Luigi and/or ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS or Datastage
• 2+ years of DevOps tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
• 2+ years of experience with database systems (BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Redshift)
• 2+ years of discovery and assessment of a client’s portfolio, tools, and applications
• 2+ years of professional software and consulting experience
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS or GCP) is a plus
• Experience with Unix-based OSes is a plus

Responsibilities

• Translate business goals into concrete data engineering solutions
• Collaborate with devops and agile teams to deliver data pipelines and systems
• Design and guide data schemas, pipelines, and technical architecture
• Mentor peers and new hires on best practices and project status communication
• Identify technical solutions aligned with client needs and project goals
