Job summary

MRCOOL is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to architect and govern its enterprise data warehouse on Google BigQuery. You will design a modern ELT stack, ingest data from ERP/CRM systems, and consolidate disparate platforms into a single trusted data environment for finance, operations, and growth.

You will lead data governance, build scalable pipelines, and deliver KPI dashboards using Power BI, Looker, Looker Studio, or Tableau, enabling AI-powered analytics across the business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on data engineering in a major public cloud
• Google Cloud Platform experience required
• 7+ years with Google BigQuery as an enterprise data warehouse
• Advanced SQL and dimensional modeling skills
• Experience with Google Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Data Fusion
• Experience with data governance, quality, lineage and access controls
• Experience integrating ERP/CRM/cloud data sources like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks

Responsibilities

• Architect, build and govern MRCOOL’s enterprise data warehouse on Google BigQuery and Google Cloud
• Design modern ELT architecture with raw/staging/core/data marts
• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, HubSpot, Magento, Zendesk, Aircall, Analytics tools
• Integrate EDI/3PL data flows from Celigo, SPS Commerce, Logicbroker, qStock
• Optimize BigQuery performance and cost (partitioning, clustering, materialized views)
• Establish enterprise data governance: ownership, access, lineage, metadata, data quality
• Create a common data dictionary and semantic layer for core terms (revenue, margin, DSO)
• Reconcile systems into conformed dimensions and chart of accounts
• Clean and consolidate historical data from legacy systems
• Define automated data quality rules and validation controls
• Partner with finance/ops to define KPIs and deliver governed dashboards
• Build BI solutions using Power BI, Looker, Looker Studio, Tableau
• Enable natural-language querying and AI analytics using Gemini in BigQuery
• Use AI-enabled tooling to improve testing, docs and dev productivity
• Work with Google Cloud services including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc
