Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a senior Data Engineer to support a new Identity and Access Management initiative. You will design and evolve low-latency GraphQL APIs and data pipelines that power enterprise developer workflows, with a focus on microservices on AWS and robust production monitoring.

The team is small, consisting of two full-time equivalents plus you, expects EST hours and a single interview round, with potential conversion to a permanent role, and W2 employment options with benefits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering with backend or full-stack experience.
• Hands-on GraphQL API design and implementation.
• Proficiency with PySpark or Scala/Spark and batch processing.
• Experience with Snowflake and building scalable data pipelines.
• Advanced AWS experience with Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, and related services.
• Proven ability to own senior-level cloud projects with production monitoring.
• Experience delivering low-latency, highly available microservices at scale.
• Ability to work in a small, high-impact team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain low-latency GraphQL APIs.
• Develop data pipelines using PySpark, Spark, Snowflake, and AWS Glue.
• Implement microservices on AWS using Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB.
• Ingest, transform, and serve data with strong data modeling.
• Set up API and data job monitoring, observability, and alerts.
• Collaborate with IAM stakeholders on risk-identification initiatives.
• Contribute to security, architecture, and performance reviews.
• Work within EST hours in a fully remote environment.
