Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a senior Data Engineer to help launch a new Identity and Access Management initiative. The contractor will design and evolve low-latency GraphQL APIs and data pipelines, powering developer workflows across the enterprise in a remote, EST-aligned environment.

The role emphasizes microservices on AWS, strong data engineering fundamentals, and production monitoring. Team comprises two FTEs plus the contractor, with one interview round; conversion to full-time is possible;

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering and backend development.
• Hands-on GraphQL API design and implementation.
• Expertise with PySpark or Spark and AWS Glue.
• Experience with Snowflake and scalable data pipelines.
• Strong AWS experience: Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, and related services.
• Experience delivering low-latency microservices at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain low-latency GraphQL APIs for developer runtimes.
• Develop data pipelines using PySpark or Spark, Snowflake, and AWS Glue.
• Implement microservices on AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB).
• Ingest, transform, and serve data with strong modeling and quality.
• Set up monitoring, observability, and alerting for APIs and data jobs.
• Collaborate with IAM stakeholders on risk-identification initiatives.
• Contribute to architecture, security, and performance reviews for cloud services.
• Work within EST hours in a fully remote environment.
