Job summary

SHEIN Technology is seeking a Senior Data Engineer I (Intelligent Automation) to apply GenAI/LLM capabilities to real data-engineering workflows, turning prototypes into reliable internal tools that boost productivity and data access.

This role emphasizes AI automation for Data Engineering, requires strong Python/SQL, hands-on production ownership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams across global offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of software, machine learning, data, or platform engineering experience with ownership of production systems or developer-facing tools.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with understanding of databases, APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building GenAI/LLM applications using RAG, embeddings, tool calling, agents, prompts, or model APIs.
• Experience productionizing services with testing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and incident troubleshooting.
• Strong ownership and communication skills for distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and productionize GenAI/LLM solutions for data engineering workflows and tooling.
• Develop retrieval/RAG and agentic workflows connecting docs, SOPs, databases, logs, APIs, and platforms with guards and access controls.
• Improve data engineering efficiency through AI-assisted incident triage and automated workflows.
• Integrate AI capabilities into reusable internal services and developer tools with monitoring and adoption metrics.
• Collaborate with Data Eng, AI, SRE, DB, Platform, and global teams to identify high-value use cases.
• Own scoped projects from problem definition to production support and contribute to standards.
