Job summary

The Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer III to advance the organization's enterprise data strategy and lead data platform modernization, including migrating from Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.

This role emphasizes architecture, governance, and ownership, guiding migration efforts and enterprise integrations while mentoring junior engineers. Ideal candidates will have strong experience with Fabric, Azure data technologies, SQL, and Python, and will collaborate with IT

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data/Information Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

Lead portions of Synapse-to-Fabric migration, owning architecture and design decisions.
Design and govern Fabric workspace structures (lakehouses, warehouses, notebooks, pipelines).
Develop and implement data governance and cataloging initiatives to improve data organization and reduce sprawl.
Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define data architecture standards and best practices.
Support enterprise system integrations across ERP, HRIS, fleet management, and financial platforms.
Mentor Data Engineer I and II on Fabric technologies and migration methodology.
Communicate architecture decisions, risks, and tradeoffs to IT leadership.
