Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering with ownership of production pipelines.
• Hands-on Fabric experience or equivalent Azure Synapse/Databricks with willingness to specialize.
• Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, Spark SQL for data transformation.
• Strong dimensional modeling and Delta Lake/medallion patterns.
• Git/CI-CD experience for data pipelines with PR discipline.
• Knowledge of data quality, governance, and security (PII/HR/financial).
• Ability to communicate trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from diverse sources.
• Own data modeling across bronze, silver, gold layers with star schema and SCD handling.
• Optimize performance via partitioning, indexing, and Delta/Parquet formats.
• Enforce data governance and security practices for sensitive data.
• Diagnose data defects with source-system fixes and audit-trail documentation.
• Deploy Fabric artifacts via CI/CD; maintain parity across environments.
• Ensure curated layers meet BI needs and guide if new work is required.
