Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines powering analytics and data science workloads in a healthcare context. You will model the Core Data Domain and partner with data scientists to enable scalable BI and ML use cases.

You will build ETL/ELT pipelines, optimize performance, ensure data quality and governance, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable work experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience in developing complex queries.
• Experience in Python, specifically with ETL pipelines.
• Experience deploying data pipelines in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of data governance best practices in a cloud environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling & Architecture for analytics and ML requirements.
• ETL/ELT data pipelines ingestion, processing and transformation.
• Performance tuning, partitioning, and clustering to optimize queries and costs.
• Data Quality & Governance: establish and enforce standards and security policies.
• Collaborate with data scientists to design data solutions for BI and ML models.
• Document pipelines, workflows, and best practices; mentor junior engineers.
• Design and architect data infrastructure for analytical workloads and data marts.
