Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines powering analytical capabilities. This hands-on role requires expertise in data engineering best practices and translating business needs into technical solutions.

You will contribute to datasets for analytics and data science workloads and play a key role in modeling the Core Data Domain to support multiple access patterns and use cases.

Qualifications

• Data Modeling & Architecture: Develop and optimize data models and schemas to support analytics, reporting, and ML requirements.
• Data Pipeline Development: Design and build ETL/ELT data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large datasets from multiple sources.
• Performance Optimization: Implement best practices for performance tuning, partitioning, and clustering to optimize data queries and reduce costs
• Data Quality & Governance: Establish and enforce data quality standards, governance frameworks, and security policies for data storage and access.
• Data Integration & Transformation: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design data solutions that integrate with BI tools and ML models
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, workflows, and processes. Share best practices and mentor junior data engineers.
• Design and architect data infrastructure analytical workloads Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and building data marts.

Responsibilities

• Model and architect data schemas to support analytics and ML workloads.
• Build and optimize end-to-end data pipelines across sources using ETL/ELT.
• Tune performance through partitioning, indexing, and clustering to lower costs.
• Enforce data quality and security standards for storage and access.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts on data solutions for BI and ML.
• Document pipelines and processes; mentor junior engineers.
• Design data infrastructure for analytics, warehouses, and data marts.
