Job summary

Northstrat Incorporated is seeking a Data Engineer to join our agile development team. The role focuses on building and maintaining ETL pipelines that enable data operations from ingest to query, supporting government data initiatives, and delivering value through modern tools.

The position is hybrid, with 1–2 days per week in Sterling, VA. You will work in a fast-paced environment on a cross-functional team, tackle complex data challenges, and stay updated on the latest data engineering

Qualifications

5+ years of total relevant experience.
BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Experience with Python and Java programming.
Fluency in data extraction, labeling, and data prep for analytics.
Familiarity with JSON, XML, and other log formats.
Ability to troubleshoot data flow and system issues.
Experience with Agile software lifecycle.
Experience with Linux and configuration tools (Git, Nexus, Maven).
DoD 8140/8570 certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
Willingness to work 1–2 days weekly at Sterling, VA office.

Responsibilities

Must have a strong working knowledge and experience developing ETL Pipelines.
Work with big data systems and diverse data sets for government data acquisition, analysis, and sharing.
Understand technical complexities and continuously learn and adapt.
Show strong testing and quality assurance, troubleshoot data flow issues under deadlines.
Collaborate in a fast-paced, small business environment with the team.
Other duties as assigned.
