Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines powering analytics. This hands-on role focuses on translating business needs into scalable data solutions and modeling the Core Data Domain to support diverse access patterns and use cases.

You will join a dedicated team creating datasets for analytics and data science workloads, collaborating with data scientists and analysts to drive insights and impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable work experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience in developing complex queries.
• Experience in Python, specifically with ETL pipelines.
• Experience deploying data pipelines in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of data governance best practices in a cloud environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product owners.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling & Architecture: Develop and optimize data models and schemas for analytics, reporting, and ML.
• Data Pipeline Development: Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large datasets from multiple sources.
• Performance Optimization: Tune performance, partitioning, and clustering to improve data queries and reduce costs.
• Data Quality & Governance: Establish data quality standards, governance frameworks, and security policies for data storage and access.
• Data Integration & Transformation: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design solutions that integrate with BI tools and ML models.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create documentation for pipelines and workflows and mentor junior engineers.
• Architecture of data infrastructure for analytical workloads, with data warehousing concepts and data marts.
