Job summary

TEKsystems, Bethesda, MD, seeks an expert data engineer to design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines for enterprise environments. You will own ETL/ELT architecture, data transformation, orchestration, validation, lineage, logging and monitoring, with strong SQL and Python, REST APIs, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MS SQL.

This contract role is fully remote. Compensation ranges from $80.00 to $97.00 per hour, with benefits typically included and aligned to

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or a related software engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines in enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and relational databases; Python experience.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and data integration interfaces.
• Experience with Linux-based development or deployment environments.
• Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD practices.
• Experience developing automated tests for data pipelines, APIs, or software components.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for high-volume, multi-source data environments.
• Build reusable data connectors and integration services to ingest data from APIs, databases, files, and other sources.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and data services to support ingestion, transformation, and downstream applications.
• Implement data quality controls, validation, reconciliation, and logging and monitoring for auditability.
