Job summary

RLI Corp is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, modeling, and distribution. You will partner with stakeholders to translate needs into high-value data products and ensure data reliability and governance.

You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment within our Data & Analytics team, reporting to a Data Engineering Manager, and contributing to end-to-end data platform evolution.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance is preferred.
• Not considering visa sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, modeling, and distribution.
• Ensure changes to data pipelines and models are validated, documented, and communicated prior to release.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver data products that meet needs.
• Monitor data reliability, quality, and SLAs across systems.
• Troubleshoot complex data and system issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate development and improve documentation.
• Contribute to architectural decisions within established enterprise patterns.
