Job summary

Lower.com is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data & Analytics team, building core data infrastructure on Snowflake, dbt, Looker, and Domo. You will own complex initiatives from scoping to delivery with minimal oversight and mentor peers.

You will work hybrid, splitting time between Columbus, OH and Austin, TX, collaborating with stakeholders across marketing, sales, operations, finance, product, and mortgage operations to deliver trusted data models and metrics.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI engineering, or similar data-focused role.
• Deep SQL expertise and experience with large, complex datasets.
• Track record designing and owning production pipelines and data models.
• Strong experience with Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks.
• Substantial experience with dbt or similar transformation framework.
• Strong Python for data processing, automation, and pipelines.
• Fluency with Looker, Domo, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development tools in real engineering work.
• Ability to scope work, sequence it, and mentor others.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build major components of the data infrastructure powering reporting and analytics.
• Lead ingestion of complex datasets into the core data schema across multiple sources.
• Define modeling standards and build curated models, marts, and reusable data assets.
