Job summary

System One in Arlington, VA seeks a Sr Data Engineer for 6-month contract-to-hire. Onsite 4 days a week with one remote day, 40 hours weekly, and an active DoD Secret clearance. The role focuses on building and optimizing ETL pipelines, data integration, and scalable warehousing in Azure.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of related experience and a strong background with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake Storage, SQL Database, and Synapse.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance is required.
• BA/BS in Computer Science, IT, Data Analytics or related field.
• 7+ years of related experience.
• Strong experience with Azure ETL services and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize ETL data pipelines into the data warehouse.
• Integrate large, complex data sets to meet business requirements.
• Design scalable and reliable data warehousing solutions.
• Extract, transform, and load data into Azure storage (Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Synapse).
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related Azure tech.
• Manage and optimize databases ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
• Automate processes, improve data delivery, and redesign infrastructure for scale.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deliver high-quality data solutions.
