Job summary

BDR Solutions LLC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade data architectures and pipelines for a DoD customer. You will lead data initiatives, ensure security, and collaborate with architects, data scientists, and government stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.

The role requires expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), big data tools (Hadoop/Spark/Kafka), and a strong background in data governance and secure data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• 8–10 years of Data Engineering experience with DoD or Federal programs.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-scale data architectures and data pipelines.
• Strong experience with SQL, NoSQL, Data warehousing, ETL/ELT tools and frameworks.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka.
• Cloud-based data solutions on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Proficient in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Secure data management in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality Management, and MDM.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale data architectures and pipelines.
• Develop and implement ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data.
• Design and optimize data models, databases, and workflows for performance and security.
• Develop prototypes and PoCs for evolving requirements.
• Perform code reviews and enforce engineering, security standards.
• Collaborate with architects, data scientists, and stakeholders to integrate data solutions.
• Implement SQL/NoSQL data solutions and data governance.
• Support large-scale processing with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka.
• Develop cloud architectures in AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Implement data security controls and auditing.
