Job summary

Group One Trading, LP is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate a modern data platform powering trading analysis and decision support. You will partner with traders, risk, finance, and tech to understand data flows and deliver reliable, well-governed data systems.

You will migrate workloads from legacy systems, establish ingestion/observability standards, and drive architectural decisions with ownership of key data workloads.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience building and operating production data platforms with business impact
• Deep hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses or lakehouses, orchestration, and streaming ingestion
• Expert-level SQL and strong proficiency in Python for production data pipelines
• Strong data modeling skills across analytical and operational use cases
• Experience with CI/CD, observability, data quality controls, and infrastructure-as-code
• Familiarity with MSSQL/SSIS/SSAS/SSRS/Power BI and migrating workloads
• Ability to contribute to architectural decisions and manage risk
• Strong communication with business users to understand data usage

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the firm's data platform powering trading analysis, reporting, and decision-making
• Collaborate with traders, risk, finance, and technology to migrate workloads to the new platform
• Work with Principal Data Engineer to refine architecture and deliver core components
• Establish engineering standards for ingestion, orchestration, testing, observability, and data quality
• Lead production workloads and help analytics users adopt platform practices
