Job summary

Jobtailor is hiring a data engineer in the United States to design and build scalable data solutions. You will develop pipelines using SQL, Informatica, IICS, and Snowflake, and create reliable data preparation routines for reporting datasets.

You will model data, optimize queries for Snowflake and Oracle, and work with XML/JSON data in AWS. Strong security, governance, and collaboration with stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
• 5+ years of data engineering or database development experience.
• Strong expertise in SQL development and query tuning.
• Proven ETL/data integration experience using Informatica and IICS.
• Experience with Snowflake data warehouse architecture and development.
• Proficiency with Oracle database systems.
• Power BI for data visualization and reporting enablement.
• Solid data modeling, normalization, and relational design.
• Experience handling XML/JSON data structures.
• Building data solutions in AWS cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
• Deep understanding of data security, governance and compliance practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data solutions.
• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and workflows for reporting, analytics, and business applications using SQL, Informatica, IICS, and Snowflake.
• Develop and manage data preparation routines for extracts, transformations, and reporting datasets.
• Create and maintain logical and physical data models following normalization best practices.
• Tune queries for performance across Snowflake and Oracle.
• Work with XML/JSON data formats and AWS cloud frameworks for scalable data integration.
• Ensure data security policies and best practices are followed.
• Collaborate with data analysts, developers, and stakeholders to define data requirements for reporting tools like Power BI.
• Recommend improvements to data architecture, workflows, and governance.
• Mentor junior team members and promote continuous learning.
