Job summary

Blue Shield of CA in Rancho Cordova, CA seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and operate complex data pipelines and cloud data solutions. You will embed security, automation, and reliability across the SDLC while ensuring production readiness and governance.

This hands-on technical leadership role requires collaboration and sharing engineering best practices in a regulated healthcare environment. You will tackle modern data stack tooling (dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow) and advance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5 years of data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL with scripting and automation experience.
• Cloud platforms (Azure preferred) with ADLS, Synapse and Data Factory.
• Hands-on with dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow or Tidal.
• Data Vault 2.0 data modeling, integration, architecture, warehousing, quality.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, GitHub).
• Strong agile delivery and enterprise cloud integration knowledge.
• Excellent communication to translate technical solutions for stakeholders.
• Healthcare or regulated environments, Epic exposure preferred.
• Awareness of data governance, security standards, and production certification.
