Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate complex data pipelines and cloud data solutions across the enterprise. You will lead hands-on technical work, champion best practices in the SDLC, and ensure production readiness while aligning with security, governance, and compliance in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL scripting and automation capabilities.
• Hands-on with Azure cloud platforms and services (ADLS, Synapse, Data Factory).
• Experience with dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, or Tidal.
• Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0, data integration, warehousing, and data quality.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, GitHub).
• Strong communication and ability to translate complex tech to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in healthcare or regulated environments, Epic exposure preferred.
• Awareness of data governance and production certification processes.
