Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate complex cloud data pipelines and data products for the enterprise. You will ensure production readiness and align with security and reliability standards across the SDLC.

This hands-on technical leader collaborates with data teams to promote best practices, automate workflows, and deliver scalable data solutions in healthcare contexts. Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL scripting and automation.
• Azure cloud with ADLS, Synapse, Data Factory.
• Hands-on with dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, or Tidal.
• Data Vault 2.0, data integration, warehousing, and data quality.
• CI/CD pipelines with Bitbucket or GitHub.
• Agile delivery and enterprise cloud integration.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Healthcare or regulated environments exposure preferred; data governance and security awareness.
