Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Data Engineer III to lead hands-on full-stack development within the Enterprise Data organization. The role shapes future big data and analytics initiatives, building scalable data pipelines and data lakes on AWS.

You will work with Python, Java, JavaScript, and various AWS services to deliver robust data solutions, including MarkLogic integrations and data warehousing with Snowflake, while collaborating in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or closely related field (foreign equivalent accepted).
• 5+ years hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Kinesis, Lambda, Athena, Glue, EMR).
• 5+ years of data ingestion, data extraction, and data integration experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops code and data pipelines to ingest from relational databases, files, and web services.
• Builds data lake on AWS S3 with partitioning and compression for performance.
• Develops with Spark, AWS Glue, Informatica, EMR, Athena for analytics.
