Job summary

Iridium is seeking a Data Engineer III to advance its enterprise data modernization efforts within the Enterprise Data team. You will design and optimize cloud-based data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and data models to power analytics and real-time insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams and business stakeholders to build strong working relationships.
• Strong proficiency in Snowflake, DBT, SQL, Python, and modern ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Experience with data pipeline design, data modeling, streaming and batch ingestion technologies such as Kafka and NiFi/Openflow.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and data quality, governance, and performance-tuning practices.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data architectures.
• Telecom or satellite industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Build and enhance data ingestion frameworks using AWS Glue and DataSync, Snowflake, and DBT.
• Ingest structured and unstructured data from databases, APIs, and streaming sources with a focus on quality and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in data pipelines and ingestion processes.
• Develop data models to support analytics and reporting across the business.
• Ensure data governance, compliance, and security best practices are followed.
• Monitor and optimize data infrastructure health and performance.
