Job summary

LMI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead data initiatives for USAF technology solutions in Tysons, VA. You will architect cloud analytics, build scalable data pipelines, and enable data product development while migrating analytics to AWS.

Collaboration with IT and cross-functional teams will ensure secure, scalable data infrastructure. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree, hands-on AWS experience, data automation skills, and project management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with modeling and simulation solutions for supply chain optimization.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages (Python, SQL, R).
• Hands-on experience migrating data analytics products to cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Proficiency in cloud-native tools and services for analytics and data processing (AWS Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda, RDS).
• Strong technical skills in configuring, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure components relevant to data analytics.
• Experience in project management within a technical or data analytics context.
• Ability to liaise effectively with IT and other organizational entities.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Develop an analytic infrastructure roadmap to transition current data infrastructure to a cloud environment.
• Design supporting data architectures and integration paths.
• Support data automation processes to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.
• Provide project management support, ensuring coordination and execution of data engineering initiatives.
• Develop and implement modernization strategies for existing data analytics infrastructure using cloud-native tools.
• Optimize cloud architecture to improve scalability, security, and cost-efficiency for analytic operations.
• Liaise with USAF IT and other entities to facilitate communication and collaboration.
