Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate complex data pipelines and cloud data solutions in a regulated healthcare environment.

You'll lead hands-on engineering efforts, ensure production readiness, and promote best practices in security, automation, and reliability across the SDLC. Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL with scripting and automation.
• Cloud experience with Azure including ADLS, Synapse, Data Factory.
• Hands-on with dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow or Tidal.
• Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0, data warehousing and data quality.
• Experience with CI/CD (Bitbucket, GitHub).
• Familiarity with agile delivery and enterprise cloud integration.
• Healthcare or regulated environments knowledge (Epic exposure preferred).
