Job summary

Ready is expanding its data engineering team to support growth across a broadband infrastructure monitoring platform and BEAD programs. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer who thrives in complex pipelines, with expertise across AWS and GCP, delivering reliable, scalable data infrastructure.

You will work with the Head of Data and cross‑functional teams to build and maintain data infrastructure powering multi‑state programs, focusing on Airflow, DBT, SQL, and robust data models.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience with production systems end‑to‑end.
• Ability to evaluate trade‑offs and balance cost vs. performance.
• Strong SQL (PostgreSQL, Athena/Presto) and Python; production‑quality code.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS data services and Airflow in production.

Responsibilities

• Build, optimize, and maintain scalable data infrastructure on AWS.
• Own data lake/warehouse architectures, partitioning and lifecycle management.
• Develop production‑grade Airflow DAGs for ingestion and transforms.
• Design robust DBT pipelines with data quality checks and modeling.
• Write optimized SQL for analytical and operational workloads.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team standards.
• Ensure observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
