Job summary

Universal Music Group (UMG) seeks a Senior Data Engineer – Enterprise Data Products to join the Global Data & Analytics team in Philadelphia, PA. You will design scalable data pipelines and data products that power analytics, AI/ML, and ecommerce Shopify data across the organization, with a focus on semantic layers and trusted sources of truth.

You will lead data engineering teams, collaborate with data scientists and governance, ensure data quality, and optimize storage and query performance

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Experience building data pipelines, data models, and data platforms.
• Experience with Shopify data is strongly preferred.
• Strong SQL and Python; cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with dbt or LookML and semantic layers.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and data products.
• Build ecommerce data products and Shopify data pipelines.
• Develop AI-ready datasets for downstream use.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts for feature engineering.
• Maintain semantic layers and data quality checks.
• Tune storage and query performance; implement CI/CD in data workflows.
