Lowe’s Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build trusted analytical foundations at the Charlotte Tech Hub. You’ll translate business questions into reusable data models, develop semantic layers, and empower self-service analytics across enterprise platforms.

This role collaborates with Analytics, Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate, documented, and scalable data assets that support AI-assisted decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, CIS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of experience in data, BI, or platform engineering, data warehousing/ETL, or software engineering.
• 4 years of experience on SDLC projects.
• 3 years of experience in SQL and scripting.
• 3 years of experience in big data technology.
• 3 years of experience in cloud-based big data technologies.

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems and reporting needs into reusable analytical data models and semantic layer objects.
• Use advanced SQL and data modeling to build reliable analytical logic across enterprise data platforms.
• Develop governed semantic layer assets and self-service explores for scalable reporting.
• Design, build, validate, and maintain scalable analytical assets supporting dashboards and AI-assisted analytics.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accurate outputs.
• Partner with development teams to test, deploy, monitor, and optimize analytical assets and integrations.
• Develop data engineering project plans covering scope, requirements, timelines, risks, and outcomes.
