Job summary

Point72, L.P. is seeking a Senior Engineer in New York, NY. The role is hybrid, allowing up to one remote day per week as permitted.

Responsibilities include designing and launching robust end-to-end data pipelines, building cloud-based infrastructure, and enabling researchers and data scientists with scalable solutions. The candidate will explore new technologies and deliver AI-enabled data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 5 years of progressive engineering experience.
• 5+ years in Python development and OO design.
• 5+ years in data processing tools & technologies.
• 2+ years in cloud technologies (AWS).
• 2+ years in system design for reusable components, libraries, APIs.
• 1+ year in distributed systems and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and launch end-to-end data pipelines and tools.
• Develop and support big data processing pipelines including ingestion, transformation, delivery.
• Build cloud-based infrastructure for data engineers, scientists and researchers.
• Explore new tech and conduct proofs of concept evaluations.
• Build Generative AI based research applications and infrastructure.
• Develop visualization and exploration capabilities around large data sets.
