Job summary

Plug Technologies Inc. is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to own the governed data layer at the center of Plug’s AI-native strategy.

The role focuses on dbt transformations, ingestion pipelines (Fivetran, HubSpot), and a semantic layer interface enabling AI agents to query business data with context. You will collaborate with a small engineering and ML team to ensure data quality, reliability, and scalable data access.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production dbt projects end-to-end with test coverage and schema change management.
• Curiosity about AI-native data patterns and dbt Semantic Layer as an agent interface.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses and reliable data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own the dbt transformation layer (staging, intermediate, mart) and MetricFlow/semantic layer definitions.
• Build and maintain the ingestion layer (Fivetran, HubSpot) and onboard new sources.
• Collaborate with engineering on data architecture decisions and schema reviews.
• Maintain ML feature store and data quality for model training and analytics.
• Support internal data consumers with trusted datasets and self-service reporting.
