Job summary

Referment, a consumer fintech platform, seeks a Senior Data Engineer to build and operate systems turning transaction and behavioural data into reliable reporting, lending-risk signals and fraud insights.

You’ll own data pipelines, analytics, BI and model monitoring, using AI agents to carry out work while remaining accountable for code, architecture and conclusions. This is an individual-contributor role centered on technical ownership.

Qualifications

• At least five years as a data or software engineer shipping production systems.
• Strong Python fundamentals and SQL/data warehousing skills.
• Hands-on experience directing AI agents or LLM-based workflows in production.
• Shipped systems with portfolio or code history to discuss in depth.
• Ability to own infrastructure and the quality of its outputs independently.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain production pipelines, services and data models.
• Write and review production Python and SQL, and scale data infrastructure.
• Orchestrate agents across ingestion, analysis, modelling and reporting.
• Build evaluation harnesses and monitoring for accuracy and traceability.
• Monitor credit risk signals, fraud signals and performance trends.
• Create dashboards showing marketplace health and provide defensible answers.
• Own data quality, governance and reliability in collaboration with product/risk.
