Job summary

Aimpoint Digital is seeking a Lead Data Engineer for full-time remote work within the United States. You will design end-to-end data architectures, build AI-ready data platforms, and collaborate with analytics teams across industries.

The role emphasizes modern cloud data warehouses, ELT/ETL pipelines, and semantic analytics layers to support AI-driven insights. You will write production-grade code in SQL, Python, and Spark, mentor a small team, and contribute to a growing AI-forward data

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent.
• 5+ years with relational databases and SQL-based data pipelines.
• 5+ years building data pipelines in production environments.
• 5+ years data modeling (star schema, ER, data vault).
• 5+ years coding in Python, Scala, Java, or similar.
• 5+ years with dbt Core/Cloud preferred.
• Experience with AI-enabled data tooling and data platforms preferred.
• Cloud data warehouses and ETL/ELT tools experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel; consultant-ready mindset.

Responsibilities

• Become a trusted data and AI advisor to clients, translating business questions into data architectures.
• Work independently on client engagements or lead small project teams.
• Design and implement AI-optimized data platforms and analytics layers.
• Build semantic and analytical layers powering BI and AI copilots.
• Write production-ready code in SQL, Python, and Spark with CI/CD.
• Collaborate with analytics, data science, and ML teams to productionize AI-enabled analytics.
